Most underrated artist?

There's a topic on here about most overrated artist, so I thought I would ask everyone's opinion on who is the most UNDERRATED artist.

^They are an incredibly talented band and Brad Mates can sing- that guy has an amazing voice.
It sucks they can't catch a break... I still think if these record labels worked with and promoted the talent that some of these artist posess they would be better off! Talent is more than capable of speaking for itself.

A live Emerson Drive DVD would be fantastic- it woud show everyone how great they are in concert. If lead singers of bands and groups could be up for the vocalist the first two guys I'd put in ther Male Vocalist category would be Brad Mates and Jimi Westbrook.

Phil Vassar and Trace Adkins. Phil is an amazing songwriter and entertainer with a big sparkly personality....Trace has one of the finest voices in all of music; I think he needs to take charge of his career himself. And he is stupendous live.

I agree with all 3 of those choices - Emerson Drive, Phil Vassar and Trace Adkins - I like all of them and agree they don't get the recognition they deserve.

Another one is Gary Allen!

I'm 100% with you on Phil. Not only is he a great songwriter he has a very good voice as well, and is a very nice guy. He also knows how to rock out on that piano.

Currently; crystal shawanda, jake owen, eric church, paul brandt (over in america), josh turner, randy houser, justin moore

Older; steve wariner, chris ledoux

I don't mind some of emerson drive's music but they really annoyed me at the '07 cma fest. Walking to the convention center every 2nd piece of the concrete sidewalk there was stuff with their band logo and what booth # they were in written by I presume the fan club. For me it was like when you head down i-95 and for 400 miles see signs for south of the border, by the time you get there you want to blow the place up.

I like gary alan but his music is mostly sad and somber for a message. I saw him this summer and was like evry song has a down msg. I know there are a bunch that are not but he has too many of the others for me

That was Emerson Drive's street team- the fans in the fanclub, like you said... it's not really something you should hold against the band members themselves.

Street teams go way overboard sometimes.

It was over the top annoying to me. Not that I hold it against their music at all. Except the song "moments" I really really dislike that song. It was one I'd rather listen to a commercial on another station than be put through that song. I understand it was there most recognizeable as of late but don't like it at all. Think they have much better other songs

Their intentions are good, but what people don't understand is if you are too agressive you are actually going to turn peope OFF of the artist.

Emerson Drive no longer has an "official" street team.

The list of artists I have not seen who are alive really only consists of paul brandt and garth. That is who I would really really want to se. Unless they are extremely new or dead I pretty much have seen everyone

Another thing to remember, Charlie, is that that was only a handful of fans that did that.

I'd say Dierks Bentley, because he's a good singer and an even better songwriter and entertainer - but he never seems to get nominated for anything. Out of all the younger artists, he's my favorite. I guess the person that he's most comparable to is Brad Paisley, and I think he's way better than Brad. (Even though I like Brad.)

Trace Adkins is also very underrated, but he is doing a lot of subpar material lately. He's capable of much more.

I know it is I understand how everything works in country music as well as the fan clubs. Hey some are tacky while others are funny.

My buddy from around here is a record rep for a # of artists lives in nashville and does mostly stuff and artists in the south and southwest for their tours. Well he is a bigger guy so to say, but has a bubbly personality and is very outgoing. He was completely naked except angel wings and a fish covering himself up. In the fish he wrote add david nail "red light" or the fish comes off. This was b4 the song made it. He sent It to every radio station. I thought that was so clever and fantastic!

Travis Tritt. Amazing voice. I think it's issues with record companies and promotion. Some that are heavily promoted don't really have much talent.

Definitely Crystal Shawanda, Jake Owen, Justin Moore and Paul Brandt (in the US).

I'd add Jimmy Wayne and Gretchen Wilson (and some others but they come easily to mind).

Dierks' will get, maybe already has been (I'd have to look it up) nominated by the folks outside of country music like the Grammy's.

He's marketed himself that way for at least two albums now and in some ways, from his debut album.

Dierks has kind of annoyed me recently. I don't like him nearly as much as when he came out. He was throwing shout outs to willie, waylon, and more outlawish back in the day then also cross canadian ragweed. He was doing a different style of country. I liked it!

Not a fan of his newer mainstream songs. Just hasn't caught my ear lately. He was sort of bland when I met him yrs ago too.

Anyways he does work his butt off though. Think he played 265 shows that year when he first made it.
