If you like Nascar and Music, make sure you check out Chris Young at the Carfax 400, on Sunday, August 16th. Chris will be doing a pre-race performance at 130pm, as well as performing the National Anthem.
Tune into ESPN if you can't be there in person!
Top 10 Country Album Debut Coincides with Top 10 Entry of Young’s Smash Single, “Gettin’ You Home”
Nashville, TN – RCA Nashville’s Chris Young enjoys a double Top 10 week, as his irresistible smash, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” powers into the country radio Top 10 while his new album, The Man I Want to Be, becomes his second Top 10 of the week, debuting at #6 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with first-week sales of more than 26,000 copies.
In addition to a heavy schedule of touring and appearances in relation to the new album, Chris recently taped an episode of RFD-TV’s Crook & Chase, and fans can watch for the episode premiere tomorrow, September 10, at 8 PM ET. The show will include an interview with Young as well as a performance of “Gettin’ You Home.”
“Gettin’ You Home” has been a fan favorite and a critical favorite, with Music Row cheering the single and hailing Chris as “a star waiting to happen.” The release of The Man I Want to Be clearly delivers on that promise, with a rave review from The Dallas Morning News declaring Young’s “music is flat-out traditional country with a vintage soul. The songs on The Man I Want to Be, his second major-label album, are thoughtful, sexy, touching, rich and rambunctious.”
Lauding Young’s style, songwriting, and delivery, All Music Guide extends the praise, calling The Man I Want to Be “sophisticated, disciplined, passionate, sincere, and clever,” while Roughstock.com adds, “there isn’t a song on this record that wouldn’t make the airwaves better for having them,” declaring the disc “one of the best albums to be released in the past few years.”
The Man I Want to Be is the follow-up to Young’s self-titled 2006 release, which featured the hit “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” and earned him the highest selling album debut by a new country male that year.
This Friday, Chris will be rolling into Georgia, where Atlanta-area fans can look forward to an evening concert at Wild Bill’s in nearby Duluth, as well as a morning performance on FOX’s Good Day Atlanta.

So...when this thread started Chris was an "Emerging Artist". I think it's time to find out how to get it moved to The Headline forum _________________ We have no greater cause in music than to see our music reach as many people as it can and affect those people positively - Pat Green 08/24/2004
