Here's a link to an article published in the ACM magazine called "Tempo." We have seen the videos they did interviewing George prior to the Artist of the Decade special, but this is the printed interview....and some wonderful photos. We Strait fans know most of what's printed here, but there are a few new bits of info. Nice reading and a nice compilation!

George Strait's Son Sticks to Songwriting

Oct 30th 2009 6:00PM by Lorie Hollabaugh

George Strait's son Bubba may be a chip off the old block when it comes to songwriting, (he co-wrote the recent hit, 'Living for the Night,' with his father and Dean Dillon), but he says he'll probably leave the performing to his mega-star dad.

Bubba (whose real name is George Strait Jr,) collaborated on several songs for his dad's new album 'Twang,' but tells Cowboys and Indians magazine he doesn't see himself recording his own songs anytime soon. "Not unless I learn to sing. I got my mom's singing voice!' But that's OK, I don't know if I could sing in front of a lot of people anyway."

Bubba says he enjoys writing songs with his dad, but sometimes it's hard to keep the elder George's attention on the music. "We like all the same stuff, so we seem to agree on music," says 28-year-old Bubba. "I'm writing a lot more than him, though, because sometimes he'd rather go play golf. But you can't blame him. Besides, he needs the practice!"

Bubba definitely doesn't take his amazing writing partners for granted, though. "It was great writing with my dad and Dean. Dean's a songwriting genius! It would be any songwriter's dream to write with one of them, much less both. I haven't been writing long, either, so I consider myself lucky to have that chance."

'Living for the Night' is the first single from George's latest album, 'Twang

Jane, nice article about Bubba. Hey, noticed he's 28, a little older than I, but not much! Laughing

Future CW with George and Reba on the cover. Think it's Nov 23, 2009. It's probably about their touring together in early 2010.

loves george

Thank you, for that about the book. I hope so, Because I need it, with no jobs out there now. I am starting my next book now. I am trying to change the name of the spelling of the girls name but it's not working right becase the spelling and grammer key keeps underlining it in red.I am going to call her Jypsie and that's the way I want to spell it, but like I said it keeps getting red lines under it. That doesnt't look cool to a publisher. It is a about a plastic surgeon who does pro bono work for domestic violence women and helps them start their lifes over. Well actually he hooks them up with Jypsie who does that, so thats what draws them together.I was scared at first to submit that idea to my new publisher, but she liked it, and said go for, especailly if it will help women get out of that. I have the clencher that will happen at the nd of the bok, but not telling anyone so they will buy it. I have to have it ready by the 1st of the year. HUMMMMMMMMM doesn't leave long for 50,000 words. I dont know when the picture was taken of George next to the post, not mine. But it says 2002 so he would have been 50 then. I would like to hear peoples comments about book idea though. I do plan to put the 800 #s and any help that will give these women in the back of the book or thr front, anything that will help them.planning in adding a dentist that does the same thing.

I hope he adds some more dates to this schedule. He needs to add at least one or two Texas dates on there!

Jane, he usually does. Hope he adds one close to you. This will be a very good show. I've seen Reba twice, including one with B&D. It will be nice to see her again.

what are ticket prices

I used to pay 50.00 for a front row seat 15 years ago. no way i can afford 600.00 for one.thats my rent for a month i dont see how anyone can with the economy the way it is and three months from now isnt going to change it, He should do like kenny and someof the rest and go back to the way they were years ago.If kenny and the rest can put their tockets under 100.00 so can he.Nothing against George. you can imagine how much theyw ill be with Reba.

They can say what they want...I do believe a few venues set the price for tickets. My reasoning is this....Cedar Park, Texas just opened their brand new venue when George played there recently. The tickets were outrageously priced. George's tickets for all his other shows were so much cheaper. I think Cedar Park wanted help in paying for their venue. Just my thoughts.

Kora, if George does add Texas to his schedule.....I look for it to be San Antonio. If that happens....it would depend on the day of the week whether I could go or not. I would love to see Reba as I've never seen her. Goes without saying I would LOVE to see George!

His ticket price is usually around $60 or so.... Its broker tickets that go in the $600 range and that's a starting price.. Cedar Park was the exception and I know the venue set that price, not George.

here in atlanta

when he came to gwinette the last time they set all front row tickets at 600.00, and the cheap tockets wre so far back that he would have been like a ant onstage. I hope they dont do this at phillips arena, used to be the omni, where i paid 50.00. I was hoping that george wasnt doing this to his fans. but i have seen the same thing on a few other artist to, like alan jackson.

I think I paid $99 plus fees in 2008, the last time I saw George in Vegas. He wasn't there in 2009 because of the summer tour. I would think Vegas tickets for 2010 will be over $100 and close to $80 for the other venues. I do not buy nosebleeds!
