I agree Nashviller. Jo has always been one of the voices of reason in this forum.

She always posts great music polls - and if it's something I haven't heard before at least I can give it a listen because she usually provides a link for us. _________________ No sense beating our heads about the attitudes of those that cannot/will not change - just gives ya headache!
Sometimes a person needs to step back and regroup...maybe listen to a little music... study up some you know...refresh a little I hope this is it. _________________ LOVE EVERYBODY AS THEY ARE !

In my opinion this place definitely would not be the same if she wasn't here. To me that goes for a lot of people who come here.
God bless y'all always!!! _________________ Forgive me for not being little Miss Perfect.
Forgive me for not being like the rest of y'all too. It would be a boring place if we were all the same, so I refuse to be a boring person.

I also like it bc she posts a lot of older artists that bc of my age I never get a chance to listen to. She also posts some artists with where she is from and her influence out of Texas or more americana stuff which I don't get the exposure to

nashviller, you have such a kind heart. Don't you worry now. The words "empty nest" have a whole lot of meaning for everyone but especially so for those of us who have been stay-at-home moms for nearly two decades of our lives. My life has had a lot of shifts this year so I'm doin' the healthy thing and found myself a group of other empty nest stay-at-home moms. Life changes and when it does, it's good to have other people to talk to who have walked the path your walking.
At least it is for someone who's as chatty as I am.
Holly, I agree with you completely. There are so many great folks who make this board the great place it has always been. Community is about people and this board, for better or worse, has long been it's own small town. Since I grew up in a small town, that feels like home to me.
Country music is so deeply engrained in my life that I think of something or read something that reminds me of the folks on this board all the time.
Today as I downloaded the free Carrie Underwood song from Walmart.com, I wondered if someone had put up a poll for her new album yet and if anyone had posted about the free listening party for her on Walmart.com.
Yesterday I wondered if Karyn and Majik had seen the new video that Trace and Blake are in.
The day before, as I was reading the album notes for Slim Whitman's greatest hits, I wondered if there was a controversy when it became known that Hank Williams Sr. had claimed "Lovesick Blues" as his own composition for a time or if that was another one of those things lost in time that music folks mentioned now and then as a sidenote.
At first I thought maybe the author of the album notes is mistaken but sure enough, right there in my Itunes library on Hank Williams Original Singles it says he's the composer.
Which of course had me thinking about the different covers of "Lovesick Blues" which led me straight to Mr. Strait and wondering if I'd ever done a poll for favorite cover of "Lovesick Blues". I don't think I ever did.
When I picked up my library holds, I thought of joy and LeAnnFan. joy because one of my holds was a Travis McGee book. LeAnnFan because another of my holds was a Mac McAnally CD. Kenny Chesney and Mac did "Down the Road" not so long ago. I started listening to Kenny more closely in the last couple of years because of his fans on this board. Fans like LeAnnFan.
I've thought of charlie as I've listened to the two albums I have for Paul Brandt now. Albums I have because charlie gave me song clips and had me listening to Paul at length. I love those albums now and wish I'd had them years ago.
Everytime Tim McGraw is played on the radio or in rotation on my Ipod, I think of Sally and Glo and how much they both bring to this board.
Dixie and Karyn I think of in too many ways to mention, all of them good.
There are so many great people here and I've only mentioned a few. I just wanted to let all of you know that I've been thinkin' about you because each of you is wrapped up in some way with the music that is such a part of my life. Don't think I don't think about it.
My new group of empty nest moms is good for me and I'm sure, after a time, the tug of talking about country music will pull me back here as it has time and time again in the past.
In the meantime, have fun.
I'll be meandering with the empty nesters for a while. As it happens, talking about Ernest Tubb, Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash, among other things.

I picked my library hold today, too - the new Patricia Cornwell. I know you're waiting on it and I'll let you know if it's any good.

Patrica Cornwell is not one of my favs. She tries to write like a male author and fails miserable. I'm currently reading (again) Jody Picoult My Sister's Keeper. I have an Alex Delaware novel by Kellerman awaiting me. _________________ Never worry about that which you cannot change. It is what it is for a reason.

I have read My Sister's Keeper and some of Piccoult's other books. Probably the best one is Change of Heart.

I'll look forward to that Miranda.
I have David Hosp's "The Betrayed" from the library now but it'll be a while before I get Conroy's "South of Broad" I'm #80 for it.
I just finished Stuart Woods' "Hothouse Orchid" and I'm about halfway through Sandra Brown's "Smash Cut".
I sure do wanna read that Cornwell. Those first few pages pulled me in. I can live vicariously with your review until I get it though. _________________ "No, I don't get angry with God. Not at anything." - Johnny Cash on June's death
I will miss you so much Jo...I've said it before and truly mean it...you are the best we have on this forum.
I will dedicate these lyrics to you
Breathe :
I see your face in my mind as I type away
Cause none of us thought it was gonna end this way
But people are people and sometimes we change our minds
But its killin me to see you go after all this time
Music starts playing like the end of a sad movie
It’s the kind of ending you don’t really wanna see
Cause it’s tragedy and it’ll only bring you down
Now I don’t know what to be without you around
And we know it’s never simple never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You’re the only one I know that had my back
And I can’t breathe without you but I have to
Breathe, without you but I have to
Never wanted this, never wanted to see you hurt
Every little bump in the road you've tried to swerve
But people are people and sometimes it doesn’t work out
Nothing we say now is gonna save us from the fall out
And we know it’s never simple never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You’re the only thing I know like the back of my hand
And I can’t breathe without you but I have to
Breathe, without you but I have to
It’s 2 am
Feelin like I just lost a friend
Hope you know it’s not easy, easy for me
Its 2 am
Feelin like I just lost a friend
Hope you know this aint easy, easy for me
Please enjoy your new friends...we will always be here for ya

Thanks Miranda - good to know. I got my daughter the book My Sister's Keeper when it came out and I noticed that she mentioned she would like any of Jodi Picoult's books for Christmas! Thank you - I will look for Change of Heart now. _________________ No sense beating our heads about the attitudes of those that cannot/will not change - just gives ya headache!
